private This proposal is turning a lot of heads within the Wizengamot. I suspect a great deal of the senior members think me out of my mind and definitely out of my place. I sincerely hope Rufus doesn't muck this up.

public Typically I do not have time or much interest in music. It is distracting. However, exceptions must be made.

Mr. Dylan is a clever man, wouldn't you say? )

Turkey has been in a period of unrest for years. I don't know that the general public of Britain has a reason to know the numbers, but the deaths involved are quite staggering when you think about it. At any rate, the National Security Council announced a coup d'état this morning. There's talk of martial law and abolishing Parliament there. It's certainly a tense environment...rather glad I didn't go into international cooperation now.

Nothing like an editorial to get the whole town's knickers in a twist, is there? A cursory glance at this journal reveals that said editorial was either a love it or hate it sort of deal. I've reserved my own judgment. Well-written? Yes. Sensationalist? Perhaps. Honest? We will see. At the very least, it was cutting edge. After all, what is journalism for if not for presenting the questions?

If I were a person who worried, I'd be doing it. I have faith in Bagnold's appointment of Rufus Scrimegeour, and most days I have faith in him too, but the department is surely going to suffer from the transition. A change in authority...those don't always go smoothly, and even when they do, there is a certain period of adjustment required. We do not have the luxury of that time. Already an attack has occurred, and on a place like St. Mungo's at that. These Death Eaters make me sick. I should like nothing more than to personally walk each and every single one of them to the gates of Azkaban. But I see the signs of cracks within the Wizengamot more and more each day. Some of my colleagues are afraid to try and convict influential members of society, no matter the charges and evidence against them. I do not know if they have voices in their ears or blood money in their pockets, but I do not like it. I will die as my parents did before I allow myself to bend to their will.

Public

Despicable.

I, for one, make a very public and sincere promise to do all that is within my power to ensure justice is served upon these malefactors. Mark it.

I wonder if I would be permitted to keep a pair of pajamas in my office and just sleep at the Ministry of Magic. It would make my days far more convenient than they currently are. Some pajamas, my chair, and perhaps a blanket...that's really all I would need. I'd save money on rent as well. Clearly it is the sensible thing to do.

I never spent any considerable amount of time with the Aurors, but Mr. Fields extended himself far beyond the walls of his own department. He was a great man, and I cannot wait for the day when justice is exacted upon those responsible for his mur death. I can only hope now that his memorial service will be given the respect it deserves. People disgust me.
